That’s the heart of my equestrian photography in Victoria: capturing the timeless connection between horse and rider.

Meet Donna - I’ve been a photographer my entire adult life. My career began in international photojournalism, working for magazines and newspapers across the world, before moving into the Hollywood film industry as a portrait photographer. Over the years, I’ve photographed celebrities, documented remote cultures, and told human stories from Hollywood to Siberia. My work has been exhibited and published globally and has earned me more than 200 international photography awards. But of all the experiences my camera has given me, nothing inspires me more than the work I do right here in central Victoria: photographing the incredible bond between horse and human.

Life with Horses - I live on a peaceful property near Kyneton, surrounded by the animals that shape my world every day — my beloved horse Indi, is now a 21-year-old Appaloosa x Quarter Horse, ive owned him since he was 5 and he literally my life and soul, to say i love him is not enough, he is a wise and gentle soul. I also have two cheeky ponies Rosie and Minty, a pair of spirited Jack Russells Leo and Luna, and a cat, Mr Kitty, who rules them all. Horses have been with me for as long as I can remember — in fact, my mum tells me that “HORSE” was the very first word I ever spoke and I have never got over my obsession with them! I love just being immersed in their beauty, grace, their spirit is part of my daily life, and I bring that same love and understanding into every photoshoot. My clients often tell me it feels less like being photographed and more like simply spending time with their horse — and it’s in those unguarded, natural moments that the magic truly happens.
